My Christmas Present

 

 

Some yoyo's stole a car night before last and were being chased by the sheriff's dept and they must have tried to turn the corner and ran into my fence.  I saw the police lights down there during the night but this was around 2-3 o'clock so I left well enough alone. And there had already been a traffic stop around 1 - it was a busy night in my little neighborhood. 

It rained all morning and didn't see this till about 11 when I went to let the chickens out.  And the gate was wide open! My neighbor came over when I went out this morning and was telling me what she knew. 

There were 3 of them and two evidently ran and they got the canine dog out.  Don't know what all happened.  I'll go online and get a police report today.   

Called the police dept, the person on duty is home asleep so he will contact me later.  They couldn't figure out who owned the property!  And they don't notify you when stuff happens - it's amazing.
Have talked with police dept and I'm screwed or I should say it's doubtful for getting any money from anyone to repair the fence.  Total loss of fence - the car had already been towed but parts are left behind. So I figure if these guys stole a car they won't have insurance and it will be a couple of thousand to fix the fence.
Steve (neighbor) came over and we fixed a temporary fence with those panels I had for Lily's pen which were never used.  There's a reason I always keep everything - you never know when you might need it. 

So I guess that's my Christmas present this year.  But in the grand scheme of things - the fence is temporarily fixed, Lily, Little Kitty, the chickens and I are fine, nobody broke into the house trying to run away from the police (so I didn't get to shoot anybody), and I have friends to help when needed.
